SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY

The generosity of others is at the core of the Y’s existence as a nonprofit. It is only through the support of our hundreds of thousands of volunteers and public and private donors that we are able to support and give back to the communities we engage.

 

 

Live Oak Public Library

The Live Oak Public Library provides excellent, responsive service to enrich people’s lives, support lifelong learning and build and enhance our communities through education, informing, and entertaining.

Library hours are: Mondays 2:00pm-6:00pm, Tuesdays-Thursdays 10am-6pm, Fridays 2:00pm-6:00pm, closed Saturdays and Sundays.

 

NA/AA Meetings

Narcotics Anonymous (NA) and Alcoholic Anonymous (AA) are meetings where members can meet regularly to help each other stay clean with assistance in maintaining and achieving sobriety.

Mondays and Thursdays 8:00am-9:00am and 7:00pm-8:00pm; Cafeteria

 

Meeting Space for Churches, Civic & Social Organizations

The YMCA currently provides available space for those needing to meet for specific occasions that relates to their organization. Contact Lawrence Simonson at (912) 233-1951 for scheduling and more information.

 

Community Events

Healthy Kids Day (April 30th)

Back to School Festival (July 30th)- As students prepare to go back to school, the West Broad Street YMCA helps in assisting families with school supplies and other items. During this event there are also an array of games, activities, and resources.

Fall Festival (October 25th)- The Fall Festival provides children and their families with fun and exciting activities, as well as the educational tools needed for everyday living that also include local and area businesses that participate as vendors, entertainment, and exhibitors.

Miracle on May Street (December 17th)- Miracle on May Street is an event in which new or gently loved donations such as clothes, household items, electronics, toys, and financial donations, are collected to assist families who are in need during the holiday season and can help make a big difference in their lives.
